"He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim the captives will be released and prisoners will be freed." Isaiah 61:1b
Medical teams are a great way to impact a community. Addressing the physical as well as the spiritual and emotional needs of people facilitates evangelism. Even if your team has few to no medical personnel, a medical clinic can still be carried out with local professionals while utilizing your team in areas such as the waiting area, triage, pharmacy and prayer station.
Dental and surgical clinics are also well received, but require at least 3 month notice to insure proper pre-team preparation.
Eye glass clinics are also in great demand, and can be a valuable asset to medical or dental clinics. They can be carried out by all teams, regardless of age or background.
Professional student teams, such as nursing, pharmacy, dental or medical can also use this time as a teaching tool. In the past, professors have accompanied their students, to combine teaching and board review with a clinical component.
All clinics have an evangelistic component. To ensure appropriate follow-up with new believers we partner with local pastors and leaders of each village or township.
