"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to the let the world corrupt you." James 1:27
Just as God’s heart cries out for social justice, you also can be a part of what God desires for the least of these. You will find neglected and orphaned children are abundance, hence the opportunity for you to show the compassion of Christ to the least of these. You will have the opportunity to minister first hand to the children of the villages, refugee camps and those living on the streets.
As our heart is for the widows, your team can get involved in doing acts of service to help a widow improve her living conditions, share a meal basket, provide medications and reach out with the Gospel of hope through personal evangelism.
Prison visit can give encouragement and are an opportunity to speak life into difficult situation. This is prime time to bring restoration and hope. God’s message of repentance and forgiveness is vital to the freedom we find in Christ. Gifts of hygiene packs, over the counter medications and snack goes a long way to remind them that they have not been forgotten. There is a special Government clearance process for all prison team visits, please be sure to make arrangements in advance if you would like to include this as part of your mission.
